Our classrooms were filled with delicious smells and lots of smiles as the children celebrated Pancake Tuesday in the most exciting way — by making their very own pancakes!
Throughout the day, pupils took turns measuring ingredients, cracking eggs, whisking the batter, and carefully pouring their mixtures into the pan. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience, giving everyone the chance to practice important cooking skills while also developing teamwork and confidence.
The children learned about why we celebrate Pancake Tuesday (also known as Shrove Tuesday) and how it marks the beginning of Lent.
Of course, the best part was choosing toppings! From classic lemon and sugar to chocolate spread and marshmallows, everyone enjoyed creating their perfect pancake. There were some very creative combinations!
A big well done to all our budding chefs for their excellent listening, careful measuring, and super flipping skills. We are so proud of how responsibly they worked together and how willing they were to try something new.
