NI Science Festival - 🔬✨

23rd Feb 2026

A Fantastic Finale!

What a way to end an incredible week at the NI Science Festival! Today, all the boys and girls from St. Finlough’s Primary School travelled to the Foyle Arena for our final session with the Nerve Centre at the Science Festival Showcase. The event brought together some of the most exciting names in science, technology, and innovation for a jam-packed celebration of learning and discovery. Pupils explored a world full of:

  • Hands on experiments
  • Jaw dropping live shows
  • Robotics demonstrations
  • Interactive exhibitions

All designed to spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of science!

💡A highlight of the day was the energetic and entertaining show “The Chemistry and the Celts” by Scientific Sue. The performance combined history, chemistry, and culture in a spectacular display filled with fizz, flames, and fun, bringing science to life right before our eyes!

There were also fantastic exhibits from organisations including Loughs Agency, Water NI, Bat Conservation Ireland, Food Standards Agency, GeoEnergy Discovery Centre, W5 and many more ensuring there was something to fascinate every young scientist.

And we couldn’t forget our very own young scientist, Caolan from Primary 6, who had the exciting opportunity to take part in the show with Scientific Sue and even got to taste the honey! 🍯👏

An unforgettable experience and the perfect way to wrap up an amazing week of science in action! 🚀
