School Closure and Learning From Home information

18th Mar 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Today, the Dept. Of Education announced that schools will close from Friday 20th March 2020, due to the continued threat of Coronavirus.  It is with great concern and sadness to inform you that our school will remain closed for the foreseeable.  I will endeavour to keep our entire school community informed as things progress.

We have made provisions for your children to learn from home.  The staff will continue to work on this each day and week.

There will be workbooks available for ONLY Primary 1 & 2 children tomorrow (Friday 20th March 2020) from 9am-3pm at the school door in a box.  Each child’s name is labelled on an individual envelope.  Please ensure the box is left secure after you collect your child’s envelopes.

Primary 3-7 children should continue to work on their homework booklets.  Please continue with paired reading and accelerated reading.

On the school website, in the ‘children’s area’ - can be found individual class pages with a wide variety of work activities.  Included is the details of a variety of lessons, instructions as well as spelling lists.  Feel free to browse other primary classes if you feel you need to, to meet the individual needs of your child.

Transfer papers have been emailed to P6 parents.

All children will be able to access MyMaths.co.uk, where individual homework’s have been set, as well as a wide variety of lessons and activities.

We are working on setting up accelerated reader to be accessible from home for P4-7.

Primary 3-7: All the children’s passwords for their c2k usernames haven reset to: password20. Details of login names will also be posted on the website in the class pages.
